Areas of Special Knowledge
Auditing and consulting services to municipalities, school districts, counties, and special districts as well as a variety of non-profit and private sector clients. Many of these clients are recipients of both federal and state funding and are subject to specific regulatory reporting requirements. As a principal in the audit services area, he is responsible for interfacing with clients and cognizant agencies as well as developing and implementing audit procedures to conform to applicable professional, state, and federal standards.
Active in the Association of Water Board Directors (AWBD) and is a former member of the Advisory Council to AWBD Board of Trustees.
Mr. McGrath has provided extensive assistance in the preparation and review of Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports that have been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and has served on the Government Finance Officers Association’s Special Review Committee involved with reviewing Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports nationally. He has also been involved in providing advisory services to municipal clients in the areas of workflow studies, computer systems and programming, financial compliance systems and reporting, program compliance, and other finance-related legal compliance areas.
Active in civic affairs, Mr. McGrath is the Mayor of the city of Meadows Place. Before that, he served for five and one-half years on the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission. He is on the loan committee and Board of Directors of the Gulf Coast Small Business Finance Corporation and is a member of the Sugar Land Rotary Club.
