Civic and church activities are very important to Helen. She is a past member of the executive board of directors (serving as treasurer) of the Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce. She served as Director-in-Charge of Leadership Mainland, as well as co-leader. Her service in the Kiwanis Club of Texas City included several years on the Board of Directors and culminated in being elected President of the Club. She served as treasurer on the board of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Galveston County, and has contributed services to many other nonprofit organizations. Helen is active in her church, serving as chairman of the finance committee for many years, as well as many other roles.
